Hearing Care
for the Central Coast
At Hearing Solutions Hearing Aid Center, we provide hearing healthcare and hearing aid services to patients of all ages. Whether you are looking for an upgraded hearing solution or you have a problem with another hearing disorder, we want to help you.
Hearing Tests
At Hearing Solutions Hearing Aid Center, we offer hearing tests in San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles to determine the type and severity of your hearing loss. Before we perform the hearing test, we may look inside your ears using an otoscope. This allows us to see your ear canal and the eardrum and determine if there is any earwax obstructing the canal. Once we know your ears are clear then we will have you sit inside our sound booth where you will be presented with different sounds at low and high frequency tones. This helps us determine your ability to understand verbiage.
Services Offered
Hearing Aid Fitting
After we’ve tested your hearing and you have decided to move forward with a pair of hearing aids, we will expertly fit them to your ears. Our hearing care provider is an expert in the latest hearing aid technology and the different programs needed for each hearing aid brand. We will fit the hearing aid to your unique ear shape and program them to provide you with the correct amplification.
Hearing aid fittings are crucial to ensure your hearing aids sit comfortably in your ears and provide you with just the right amount of volume. We can adjust the programming on your hearing aids even after your initial fitting, to ensure they continuously provide you with better hearing.
Hearing Aid Repairs
Your hearing aids should feel comfortable and be fine-tuned to your unique hearing needs. If your hearing aids aren’t working right for you, please contact us. Sometimes the programming on your hearing aids may need to be adjusted. If your hearing aids are broken then we can do some repairs in the office, but for more serious issues, we will have to send them to the manufacturer to repair them. Our hearing aid specialist can repair or fine tune any brand of hearing aid, even if you bought your devices somewhere else.
Hearing Aid Cleaning
Keeping your hearing aids clean and well maintained is a keyway to lengthen the longevity of your devices. We provide deep cleanings of your hearing aids to ensure they are performing their best for you. Dust, dirt, dead skin cells, and earwax can build up in the tiny components of your hearing aids, affecting their performance. We recommend bringing your hearing aids into our hearing clinic every six months for professional cleaning.
Hearing Aid Batteries
We carry a large range of hearing aid supplies, such as wax guards, domes, and batteries. Hearing aid batteries are crucial for your hearing aids to work and provide you with better hearing. We carry a wide selection of hearing aid battery sizes, so you don’t have to worry about your hearing aids dying.
Custom Hearing Protection
Your hearing is one of your most important senses. You need your hearing to effectively communicate and to hear all the sounds in life you love. Noise-induced hearing loss is incredibly common in individuals of all ages.
According to the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), approximately 22 million U.S. workers are exposed to hazardous noise levels at work. If you work in a factory, with power tools, or in an environment where the noise levels regularly exceed 85 decibels, then you should be wearing hearing protection. When properly fitted, earplugs can significantly reduce loud noise, preventing hearing damage and loss.
At Hearing Solutions Hearing Aid Center, we carry a large selection of earplugs and earmolds for optimal hearing protection. These include:
- Swim molds
- Surf molds
- Musician in-ear monitors
- Custom earplugs
Tinnitus Management
If you hear a ringing, roaring, clicking, humming, or whooshing sound in your ears, then you are not alone. Tinnitus, commonly known as “ringing in the ears,” affects roughly 50 million Americans. If you experience tinnitus, we can help you. When you come in for a hearing exam, we can also perform a tinnitus test. We carry hearing aids that have a tinnitus masking feature, that can help distract your brain from the ringing in your ears.
